Goodbye is a visual guide to grief, featuring the many small deaths that we experience on a daily basis and the human reflex to constantly reinvent ourselves in order to survive those invisible griefs that fill our lives. A monster alive with instinct and intelligence, grown stronger than its creators, Goodbye multiplies and then shatters, reproducing itself and then breaking apart to become lost in its own labyrinth.
Ultimately, by recreating the senses, by deconstructing and demonstrating the workings behind representation, and by playing with these codes, Goodbye establishes a link between questioning the creation of art and the creation of the world.
A co-production with Festival TransAmériques, this project was supported by CAC, CALQ and CAM, received funding from Circuit-Est centre chorégraphique and benefitted from creative residencies with Garage Nardini (Bassano), Compagnie Marie Chouinard and Compagnie O Vertigo.
