  • Directed by Claude Guilmain and Louise Naubert of Théâtre la Tangente, and conceived based on an original idea by Claude Guilmain, L'Implorante is inspired by the correspondence between Auguste Rodin and Camille Claudel, his muse and mistress. Performed by Sylvie Bouchard, Bernard Meney and Louise Naubert, the piece is a stunning multifaceted arrangement of choreography, music, video and text that puts in opposition movement and immobility.

A choreographer, on tour in Paris, visits the Rodin Museum. She becomes fascinated by the emotional power of Camille Claudel's sculpture, “L’Âge mûr” (Mature Age). In her quest to grasp the potency of the piece she begins an all-consuming search through Claudel and Rodin's personal letters. What emerges is a powerful and haunting parallel between choreographer and sculptress.
