The gasp of breath, the undeniable slap of flesh against flesh, the stamp of foot floor, sounds the body's power and vulnerability. Through abstraction and relational devices, “Heaven” explores solitude, and the biological and emotional needs for union and intimacy. Performed naked and in silence, the logistical and emotional complexities inherent in an adult triad are the central themes of the piece. The work startles with it's primal imagery and the deeply fulfilled, three dimensional performances. “Heaven” offers a detailed, candid and emotional exposition of the human being in virtuosic action.
Created in 2006, “Heaven” has since toured yearly across Canada and internationally. The work is timeless and surprisingly accessible. The company offers clothed performances for educational purposes and young audiences.
