Our mission at the Centre de Création O Vertigo is to contribute to contemporary dance’s evolution by efficiently supporting the research, creation and production of new choreographies. Located in the heart of Montreal’s Place des Arts, the Centre de Création O Vertigo - CCOV provides dance artists with access to its studio, a space devoted entirely to experimentation and creation. With its short- and long-term residency programs, it allows local artists to produce high-quality, world-class works. The CCOV also presents a number of outreach and promotional activities for members of the dance community and public at large: performances, labs, workshops, roundtables, etc., which make the CCOV a focal point for exchange and artistic reflection, an incubator for new ideas and a catalyst for talent.

The whole world is agitated. Nature groans, spills over. Human beings cry out in anger, in hunger. How do we understand what is happening, and how can we deal with it? Keep dancing and creating, to live, to survive. Take hold of the chaos, play with it and find pleasure in it, outsmart it.
KHAOS : a space imagined by Marilène Bastien, demarcated by and bristling with vertical rods equipped with audio and sensory captors - like so many border zones, jails, or temporary shelters that provide an escape for a moment from the tumult, from the frantic surging of bodies wired for sound. Heartbeats, confessions, and various rustlings are digitalized and transmitted in counterpoint to the composition by Martin Messier.
KHAOS by Ginette Laurin expresses a belief in life, but also in life’s roughness. With all the boldness of bodies abandoned to their intimate intensity.
