La danse sur les routes du Québec’s annual meeting was held on September 12, 2019 at the Montréal Centre for Sustainable Development. It was a time for the team and the Board to present its activities, results and the organization’s direction, as well as an opportunity for participants to learn more about La DSR, ask questions and discuss various issues with contributors in the community.
This annual gathering summoned and brought together some forty people. Among them were people who had the pleasure of listening to the speeches and words of Kathy Casey, the President of the Board, Barbara Kaneratonni Diabo, the ON/QC Program Coach, Pierre-David, “Incoming” Managing Director, Aude Watier, Executive Director, Emilie Martel, Co-Director of Parcours Danse and, of course, Paule Beaudry, who is stepping down as Managing Director.
Indeed, this meeting had a completely different approach this year since it was an opportunity for Paule to share her speech recounting her 16 years of distinguished service at the helm of La DSR; sixteen years that bring to light a strategic vision that propelled the dissemination of dance.
The day ended at the Espace danse in the Wilder Building for cocktails to celebrate the end of the 2018-2019 season and the beginning of a new one, which we hope will be an equally flourishing one. The cocktail reception was also the perfect time to raise a glass to Paule Beaudry and to wish her success on her next journey. Accompanied by her family, her colleagues, friends and associates, Paule was able to listen to the speeches written in her honour and took the opportunity to thank her guests and her entourage.
It was a moment that can be summarized in few words: joy, sharing, tears and laughter. And for that, La danse sur les routes du Québec would like to thank you. Thank you for attending, for supporting the dissemination of dance, and hopefully for supporting it for years to come.
