A perspective on dance from other cultural codes
Lead by Zab Maboungou – dance pioneer in Canada, artist, choreographer, dancer, philosophy professor and author – this discussion fosters a point of view about our mixed culture and its contribution to the dance art form. Reflections, discussions, and danced excerpts, this workshop highlights Rhodnie Désir and Alexandra Spicey Landée, who reveal the origin of the language that they create. Three artists, three perspectives: a doorway to comprehend their world. Lead by: Zab Maboungou / Compagnie Danse Nyata Nyata. Guests: Choreographers Rhodnie Désir and Alexandra ’Spicey’ Landé.

L'art de regarder la danse, une approche psychanalytique
Art, especially contemporary dance, gives a voice to the collective unconscious: at times paradoxical, and at times ambivalent, it stands out from mere entertainment because it brings forth a great deal of meaning and reflection. Dancer, choreographer and Jungian psychoanalyst David Pressault examines the way that we watch dance and its underlying meaning. Lead by: David Pressault

This workshop, lead by Caroline Lavoie, is inspired by Voyage dans la tête de programmateurs, which was presented by CINARS in 2014. Annie-Claude Coutu-Geoffroy, David Laferrière and Steve Huot will explain the universe of their work and the challenges that they face. What tasks do they carry out throughout the day? How does their artistic quest come about? How do they find the shows that they dream about? How do they select them? What are their limitations? Who are their partners and allies?
