Under the artistic direction of Kathy Casey, Montréal Danse produces contemporary dance performances with choreographers invited to rethink the creative process. This unique accompaniment and collaborative effort nourishes works like no other - mature, exciting, and supported by experienced and committed dancers
Founded in 1986, Montréal Danse has produced more than fifty works, all marked by audacity and singularity. Benoît Lachambre’s Prisms won the 2014 CALQ Prize for best choreographic work of the season. Recently, Montréal Danse has been creating with Peter Quanz, Benoît Lachambre, Caroline Laurin-Beaucage, Marie Béland and Aurélie Pedron.
Generous and committed, Montréal Danse is also spearheading the cause Dance Against Violence, which it co-founded with Agora de la danse, La Dauphinelle and Amélie-Dionne Charest to offer women and children victims of violence movement workshops to help them regain control of their bodies and their self-esteem.
